We had one new player start last night. It was a weaker version of last season without Branthwaite and Mykolenko.

The only way we improve on last season is new players. Barry needs bedding in, Grealish hasn’t played any games.

We had square pegs in round holes and played as such.

We need to get this squad balanced and also need to have a change in luck in regards to injuries.

Let’s not lose our heads after one game we know this side needs drastic surgery and I just hope we get the deals in before the deadline.

I don't get all this yeah but he leaned into the ball nonsense that's exactly what you're allowed to do to block a shot especially if your arm is down by your side in a natural position. It wasn't a pen simple as that and the media with an agenda can dress it up however they want but anfield would never be given old trafford would never be given emirates would never be given. It doesn't for me take away the worst thing about last night though which was the all round performance of the team it was shocking, it looked like we had literally chucked 11 players on the pitch and said do what you can, absolutely awful and was as bad a watch as any under dyche and thats saying something.

I was there and now calmed down a little! The pen was not a pen however we should not be talking about that. The team had no fight. We made Ampadu look like a midfield general along with Tanaka. Simply not good enough. First half we sat too deep, gave them to much respect and didn't fight. Second half was better but not great. We need the right hand side sorting but overall we need to fight, we lost to Leeds, bloody Leeds for christ sake!
To make matters worse, my Mrs is a Leeds fan she was sat with her dad in the home end and I in our end. Long walk back to car park for me!

I definetly think we are in trouble without some recruitment. Beto cannot lead a line. So much wrong with that. Braithwaite back grealish and Barry established should help but we need more than that. Not looking forward to Brighton now

Yeah another player with lack of pace will fit right in.

I mean you're probably right, and he will, but I am seriously worried that Moyes 2.0 is on the down curve after the positive quick fixes in Jan.

Interesting stats here on low-scoring clubs in 2024/25 three out the 5 went down.

Only one game in to this season, so on point in mega predictions, but from the style of play and recruitment, the bottom 6 or 7 teams is West Ham Everton, Brentford, Burnley, Palace (if they lose (Eze and Guehi), Leeds, Sunderland.

If that's where TFG and Moyes are aiming, no alarm bells.
I’m not saying Doucs/Soucek is the long term solution, far from it. But as it stands now, on a Monday night away at Leeds, we could have done with one of….we were so deep last night that not even Usain Bolt could have ran the length of the pitch and scored. Beto needs a Doucs to ‘soften up’ the defenders he’s not good on his own. Moyes needs another Fellaini

I dunno why Barry didn’t come on as soon as the penalty went in, wouldn’t you not have him ready in case it was a goal. Why are we signing young players from overseas that never seem to be premier league ready (kean/chermiti/barry/aznou/patterson) etc etc etc

Firstly, there was no MotM, as quite frankly that was a hateful no show, the attitude of the entire lot stank, ran about like they were all strangers.

No idea what is going on, but there needs to be a clear the air conversation.

No side in this league are going to let you turn up and stroke the ball about, you have to fight and battle for the right to play.

There was no fight in that side last night, that first half seemed like they all had blinkers on and were lost at sea.

Appalling!

What i find the most frustrating is a very average leeds side and first half just let them control it. Even the start of the second half we didnt have to do alot to take control.

No one appears to have the physicality and legs to press out of possession like Doucoure did. He chased the ball and swallowed the knocks and won his headers. That presence to be able to fight and get into the game is missing. leeds bullied us out of the game completely first half, and that showed up with players like pickford and tarkowski having a go at others because things weren't working out.

Something needs to change, and fast. Yes the referee turned out to be on the rs payroll again, but that's not news anymore.

We have to be able to go out there and beat all 12 opposition.

Want to say I'm shocked, but I'm not. Want to say I can see a way forward, but I can't. Want to say I have faith in the steel in our players, but I'm questioning them.

If I could, I'd fine every last one of them half a weeks pay for that first half. Maybe hitting them in the pocket might wake em up.

Embarrassing.
