I still think they saw the shinny stadium and don't give a toss about Everton.

After the takeover went through on December 19th last year, our Executive Chairman Marc Watts said this:
“As stewards of Everton, we look forward to showing our commitment to the club through actions, not words.”
Whilst there has been some decent work done in terms of incomings, there is definitely an overriding feeling of indecisiveness. To not have our two priority signings (RB/RW) ready to be signed at the start of the window is unforgivable to be honest. This has led to a poor pre season, an unbalanced squad and ultimately a below par performance in our first game of the season.
I imagine there’ll be plenty of bids going in (maybe even ones that clubs will actually accept) in the coming days and a few panic loans/frees to beef up the squad. However, it didn’t have to be like this and there should definitely be questions asked as to why it has been the case.

It isn't them negotiating the deals.
They have put up the money. It's up to the staff in charge of transfers to get the deal over the line.
They need to sort out this ridiculous recruitment committee approach. It's been a complete mess all summer and clearly hasn't worked.

I believe the owners have to step in here both internally and externally. Internally because there seems to be a disorderly transfer strategy approach which has completely unsettled our new season preparation.
Externally they need to give confidence to the fans and paying customers that they listen, care and are one team inside the building.
That has to be followed up immediately with action measured in minutes and hours not days and weeks.
The new stadium is a treasure the team is not.

I've been getting slaughtered here for saying that their no-show is an issue.
It is.
We have warring factions and that arises when there's no one at the top of the pecking order and who can visibly be seen to be so by all who work at the club.
That's a massive part of this developing mess.
Leadership is required - it's not about owning shares and sitting in Texas until those shares get sold on to some other owner.
They need to get hold of this by the scruff of the neck.

There’s a malaise across the club that has been here for years. They need to cut through it. All they’ve done by allowing the recruitment committee to faff around all summer is add to it. They need to end the window with a bang otherwise it’s another turgid season ahead and probably another managerial change.
I think the top corporate leadership are too far removed from the daily operations at the club. It is typical standard operating procedure for corporate American management. They hold the exec chairman accountable for the business unit in the case Marc Watts for Everton.
I suspect that Dan Friedkin has no issue getting his hands dirty but there probably going to have to grill the local leadership.
Either way, we are looking at internal escalation management from the Friedkins and a lot of ass covering from the local leadership.
