Dcl and doucoure compared with kdh and Barry so far I would say dcl and doucoure edge it. Grealish all day over Harrison. But then the team seems lighter in other areas. As we are right now we are no better than last season. If we sign 4-5 more players of quality then we can look forward. But another wasted game to start the season. And could very easily become another August without points. The recruitment team have failed miserably here and turned what could have been a positive outlook to a season into one of negativity very quickly.
 
Pretty worrying performance alright. The forward line was completely non effective. We will play teams a lot better than that so that forward line looks even worse. Hopefully Grealish and Barry start next game, even if not ready for the system they cant be much worse

Probably not popular but i thought it was a penalty too. He wasnt just standing there and the ball hit his hand. It was a goal bound shot that he blocked by leaning his hand while next to his body into the path of that shot. He stopped us geting a point we probably didnt deserve

A lot of work to do on recruitment side. We were second best to that lot whats Brighton going to be like

If Tarkowsli stayed upright, and the ball hit him, then fair enough.

But he didn't did he, he leaned into the ball delierately to block it.
 
Pickford being our "playmaker" seems to be the mentality of some of the players.

Credit to Keane for actively demonstrating frustration towards it last night through his body language.
 

We need to replace the physicality Doucoure brought to the team. The lack of pace and power in midfield was clearly evident and a big part of why we were so bad.

KDH is a much better footballer than Doucoure but he wasn't able to impose himself on the match and none of our front players pressed with any kind of conviction.

The system yesterday doesn't work with those personnel. Playing better football is definitely the objective but it won't matter if we are outfought and overrun in midfield.
 
Physicality was always going to be an issue last night. It’s like we’ve gone;
Extend Gana - no brainer
Grealish in - no brainer
KDH for £25 mill - decent deal

‘Oh hang on, the midfield are all midgets now’. Look at all the giants Leeds brought in. They are crap but at least there is a strategy at play.
 
Hate that sinking feeling I get when I wake up and remember oh yeah Everton lost last night and played crap after feeling positive about them in the summer. Honestly wonder why I bother
