2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes needs to work all week on the midfield. Gana, garner and KDH drilled on pressing, shape, passing and movement off the ball. It was a vacuum last night
They were outfought apart from a 25 minute spell second half.

It's one thing succumbing to the energy of a newly promoted team who were at home first game of the season, it's another to look timid fighting for second balls and getting shut of the ball ASAP.

Did he get it wrong or was team selection political… sending a clear message that we are very short.
As I have mentioned earlier if its a political selection then he needs sacking today as playing political games whilst premier league points are on the line is highly unprofessional.

I think it's mad that anyone thinks that's what it was though.

The weird enforced changes are what they are with the squad as it is (which is shameful)

What concerned me more is that we look like a team of strangers and look horrifically unfit. To me that suggests he hasn’t been doing his job over the summer

We lost away to a newly premoted side, A penalty separated the score line. Think it's a little early to be baying for blood.
I wonder if this showing was a sign to the board to get signings in on the righthand side, Even if it wasn't... It will have the desired effect. Think we will see some movement this week coz Moyes won't be taking any of the blame for that debacle. This will be placed on the board 100 %.

Oh, I don’t know. I’m giving him plenty of blame for having not coached the team properly. He has no excuse for how unfit and tactically poor we were.

I agree however I don’t want him here for many more windows if he’s going to do this. It’s his job to coach the team to be ready for the start of the league and his inability to do his job has tossed away one game already and is almost guaranteed to cost us our next few games in the league.
Totally agree. I'd imagine his position will be getting reviewed at the end of every season anyway, or In season of there's a proper nose dive. He's said himself he doesn't think he'll be here long term. Maybe in fairness to Moyes his frustration is he wants success quicker than is feasible.

If that's the case the CEO or whoever responsibility it is in the absence of a DoF needs to get a grip of him and remind him coaching the players is his focus.

Come on Dave 1 game. Bit knee jerk. I don't exactly think he walks on water either but even so.....
Do agree its a tad early for those type of shouts but if the constant back passing to Pickford so he can launch it forward all the time doesn't stop they will increase quite quickly, its practically Dycheball and I/we would expect much better from an experienced guy like Moyes.

Not impressed with that at all. He'll know that wasn't good enough, and that he won't get away with those performances for long before the knives start coming out.

Should be taking a good hard look at himself but the team and the recruitment and everything else need to be doing the same. I am going with the everything was so bad that there's no point to moan about individual things because so many of them need to be supported to improve and get up to speed.

I fear another wasted season with zero progress based on this.

Something fundamentally wrong in the club. Different owners, numerous different managers, a whole host of different players. All with the same underwhelming result.
