2025/26 David Moyes

He should be told in crystal clear terms that he's not to enter the final third of the pitch unless we're losing and it's the final minutes of the game.

I love the guy but he was crap yesterday and is a liability going forwards.
He is clearly showing leadership and showing the front 4 this is how it should be done.

He stopped pressing high in the second half when the front 4 actually make an effort to apply off ball pressure.

I think it's quite obvious Moyes used last night's game to prove a point.. he didn't need to put two goalies on the bench at all. If he really wanted to show the Friedkins we were short he should have put beto at left back!

Moyes is playing high stakes…all the noise is we aren’t ready.

So he’s saying to TFG the ppl above me aren’t giving me what i need.

Yet we’ve seen TFG remove Roma legends after 4 games.

For me he doesn’t have anywhere what he needs. No right side at all, a CB short, no LB cover (this kids to raw) no RB cover, a no 6

World class players for a world class ground

Is now up there with ‘we need a striker…we’ll get a striker’

If he is using proper first team games to make a point then he needs sacking today.

I would like to think that's not what he is doing though...

He can afford to be a bit bolder at his stage in life and career.

If the window was closed already it would have been a disaster for us.

There are big stakes here, a season of much heralded hope promising renewal on such a scale could fizzle out into more of the same within weeks.

He has to keep drawing attention to the extra signings we need and make it loud and clear.

Surprising how lethargic we looked same old preseasons not preparing us to be at it day one

Itls one thing not having players in in time, it's another to look unprepared with what you have.

The manager sets the tone and Moyes has looked arsey all summer and this team's performances are a reflection of that.

Moyes obviously feels he's unsociable.

I;d like that to be put to the test if we dont get wins in the first month of this seasons. Wins.

They've built into Moyes philosophy and tailored the structure around that.

If they did that, i'd ask serious questions.

We knew we needed players, but we also knew we couldn't sign 10 high quality players in one window.

The lack of Anzou, the mad passing round the back, the more I process, the more it feels like a dig at owners, at least that's what I am hoping.

What he's saying IMO is "give me the players I want".

There's a big difference between need and want.

Necessity is determined by the club transfer department now, not Moyes.

We can debate the merits of that all day concerning the manager's right to choose (personally I think it should be Moyes choosing), but what he did last night playing a lot of people out of position to make a point at the expense of a good result is a sackable offence.

If he cant do his allotted job handed to him by the club then I want him gone. He's partially sabotaged Everton last night. I dont think I'm alone in believing that either. His ego needs taming RIGHT NOW on transfers in or we'll be on the road to relegation by September 2nd.

It's that simple.

There were mitigating factors- no Branthwaite, no Mykolenko meant a defensive reshuffle. A very slow moving recruitment team has left us way behind most other teams.
However- Moyes compounded the problems with his team selection and game plan. There was absolutely zero attacking intent, particularly in the first half. Claiming we restricted Leeds is a straw man argument. We should be looking to score and win games, not just sit back and hope to cling on for a 0-0. It wasn’t even counter attack football, as we never attacked. He’d better not pick the same team on Sunday. There would be no better way to suck all of the feel good factor of starting life at the new ground than a repeat of last nights debacle.
