2025/26 David Moyes

Yep. The top clubs and promoted sides came out fighting and said look at us and our results. We said we’re hurt, offered up excuses, and said just you wait until December. Ugh.
I think there is this feeling amongst the PL upper echolon that the promoted sides must be 'assisted' by the officials against the non top 6 sides as the last couple of seasons the promoted sides have gone back down too easily.

It's just a feeling/opinion which will be interesting to see how it plays out over the season

It was just weird how biased the officials were last night. I think somebody on here has mentioned it; make the relegation dogfight more competitive.

Lot of tonight is at his door.

Team shape - awful. Should have been a 3 to cover up for the lack of left back and having to play Keane.

Personnel - picked the wrong ones in the wrong places, then didn't introduce key players at the right time.

Tactics - shoddy. No shape off the ball. Un-coordinated press, holes everywhere
Yep. 3 at the back with Mcniel at LWB and Garner RWB rather than shoehorning players into roles they’ve no business playing. Then when he didn’t do that, he had plenty of time to change it and didn’t. I’m glad Moyes is back, but he was poor today. Did not put the players in a position to succeed and then persisted with what wasn’t working. Reminded me a lot of Dyche today unfortunately.

The criticism of Moyes is bang out of order, I think. Peak Ancelotti, wouldn’t have been able to make a team out of that squad.

Shout about balls to Beto, he’s totally and utterly useless in the Prem. We’re lacking 6-7 Premier League players at least.

Anything less is a joke.

Think we all need to take a step back and breathe. Terrible performance and result, we will get better over the next few games. This is now the fourth season in a row where we have lost our first game so nothing new.

Moyes wasn't helped by injuries, the biggest thing was the lack of fight. You have to match fire with fire and we should have been on it as much as they were. This needs correcting for Sunday and I think it will be, hopefully that will be enough to get a result.

Critcising how he approached this game is fair. He got it wrong today and so did the players.

I hope it was on Moyes to get more signings, otherwise were in for a long season.

We didn't deal with the high pressure, but we never learnt.

Beto, hes an interesting one. Its pointless playing him, or even having him, unless youre playing to his strengths. He wants the ball played in behind, not once did we do that today. How is he meant to be effective if youre not playing to his style?

No one will be able to come Vincent me why Iroegbunam started today, ir why McNeil never got a game?

Id have played

Gana KDH
McNeil Ndiaye Alcaraz

As my 5 today. Feel for Iroegnumbam, he becomes the whipping boy. I actually felt Garner wasnt awful, hes not a full back though.

Tactics all wrong, nothing positive from the game. Let's hope it was a message to the owners.

Fans, best I can recall when so poor for a long time.

Id have gone with McNeil at left back and worked thinga out from there.

If Dyche had been manager, the place would have been in meltdown.

Moyes got it totally wrong last night, and you can say that and still be "pro" Moyes.

No one is immune to criticism, and no one stepped up there yesterday, and we didn't have a plan B.
