The general consensus online, from rival football fans is it wasn't a pen. I didn't watch the Sky Sports feed but apparently both "Carra" and Neville thought it was a penalty.

These 2 are a massive skid mark on modern football. Shifting the narrative. Having the final say, so that ultimately all the brain dead sheep agree and it's swept under the rug and never discussed again.

As I've said already, we were dire and probably didn't deserve to get anything from the game. Regardless, it is an awful on pitch decision and it needs to be called out as such.

The lack of movement up front is now the issue. Look how Leeds can thread balls throughout the whole team. We run to the corner then pass back. While Tim did alright tonight we need someone who drives the ball from deep at pace It gives the balance and variation we need.

Some on here were saying let’s wait till September 1st to judge our window and accused others of being bedwetters for questioning our transfer dealings up till now. I hope they are happy having watched that performance. That team was grossly unprepared and lacking in quality. There is no excuse, we know what positions needed strengthening since Jan. I am sick and tired every season Everton basically writing off August because we aren’t prepared. Inexcusable. We got what we deserved tonight, even though it was an appalling decision against us.
Bedwetter is a term often used by people who have not a 'kin clue about football but love a moral high ground👍

Insulting performance tonight. Embarrassment. Leeds ran all over us for pretty much all but 5 minutes. I was so excited today to see that match and like I do so often, I take off my jersey in frustration to swap out with what I wore earlier.

Year after year opening loss.

Preseason matches DO matter.

Beto may have touched the ball with his head for times. Way to go, lad. Even if Branthwaite and Mykolenko were here it wouldn’t have mattered. We were on our heels all night. Leeds right now is a better, stronger team than us. Be glad you’re there, Jack.

I never understand the shouts for wait until September to judge us....why FFS, season starts in August, that's when you need to be prepared and ready, mentally and physically with the personnel to do the job you (Everton manager) want done.

Yet who can tell me the last time we started a season with any optimism and felt we were ready for the PL to begin. I think tonight is 4 opening day defeats in a row.

This season alone, we started with a midfielder and centre back playing as full backs. Nobody can tell me that's not gross negligence by the manager and recruitment team.

At least DCL when fit offered movement. He could control a ball and run the channels. Beto did neither tonight. Barry has to start against Brighton.

How about we play like a proper side so whenever a call goes against us and is a pen, we shrug it off and keep going because we’re ahead. I swear tonight was like watching a Dyche match.

Leeds were poo too mate, that is them absolutely chomping at the bit and they were pretty lucky to knick the win.

True, but they clearly game planned for us. They had a plan, executed, and it worked. We could’ve easily lost by way more. They were relentless. Wave after wave. They won all the loose balls and we just sat and watched. Our game plan was like Dyche. Absorb 75% of a game on defence, boot it long to an isolated striker, pray for a perfect bounce. Leeds deserves credit for planning very well.

Every single other team I watch have more in attack than us. We literally don’t know what to do going forward.
