Scandalous decision to not even send the ref to the screen
This narrative of not deserving anything to almost justify a rubbish decision is really grating. Neville and Carragher both did it too. It was a terrible decision and cost us massively, irrespective of our performance.Never a penalty but we deserved absolutely nothing
Can't perform like that and then blame officials

No the ref spoke to the linesman and then gave the pen after speaking to the linesmanIt was the VAR that gave it, must be a new rule letting them ref the game against Everton
Really? I thought it just upheld the original decision? It was the VAR that gave it, must be a new rule letting them ref the game against Everton
They've literally just took a point off us.It was a bad decision but I find it really difficult to blame officials when we perform like that
I know the two issues are not linked. But you have so much bigger things to worry about than refs after that showing.
The linesman give it from a mile away and the ref went with it.Really? I thought it just upheld the original decision?
This is the thread for the refereeing though. Agree we need to also focus on the team, but that doesn't mean we can't berate the terrible decision that was made which ultimately cost us at least a point. It was a bad decision but I find it really difficult to blame officials when we perform like that

Var can overturn the decision or send the ref to screen and did neither and affirmed the refs original decision
YesThey've literally just took a point off us.
Not Leeds, the refs.
In a league that is fair this doesnt happen.Yes
But that was not an acceptable level of performance either. We need to be concerned about not stuff we can't control.
and this is the truth. They are still protecting each other rather than looking for the right decisionThe linesman give it from a mile away and the ref went with it.
After that VAR are never gonna let their boy look bad are they
To be fair, watching it on the TV, it looks like he gets a shout in his ear which would be from the linesperson based on how soon after it came. The totally bizarre nuance with VAR is that the linesperson can give it, the referee then gives it without seeing it, and then isn't given a chance to even check it himself as it's not part of the process unless VAR disagrees with the decision. Tarkowski in the post match said the conversation he had with the referee, who almost agreed with saying that if Tarkowski did what he described, it wouldn't be a penalty. Yet, he then didn't see it, but gave the penalty.Thats the official line but the VAR gave it no doubts
