2025/26 David Moyes

Didn't want him back, he totally proved me wrong - but if today's level is where we are then he will be gone before long. That's unacceptable even despite a dodgy penalty call.

That said, can't remember a time we started a season really well so let's see how we are after 5-8 games

Beto is good at certain things. The way we set up tonight is not what he is (remotely) good at.

So why did he start the game?

He is not good enough to play in a system that doesn't suit him. Play to his strengths and he will be OK.

That's a problem of modern football though, manager determined to stick with their philosophy and put square pegs in round holes.
We’re not the best team in the league we can’t just dominate the ball and thread 30 little balls through to him every game. Were a mid table side in the toughest league in the world, if your number 9 can’t control the ball, you may as well give up

Moyes has put the whole club under pressure on day one of the season, and in fact in pre-season, by insisting we weren't ready. His job is to utilise the players on the books, give them confidence, play them in their best positions, coach and prepare them properly. Not to state openly that he wants 'better' players. How does that motivate everyone else? He should have kept all his concerns behind closed doors, got on with his job, and showed a united front in public.
Everyone of us could see what was coming.

Brighton is one of the worst teams we could possibly face in our first home game. Not a big enough name to get the fans up, also a team that doesn’t seem to feel any pressure in any game ever, play like robots to a system that’s been ingrained into everyone at the club for years and years. They will do us 3-0 if we’re lucky.

Give over. Of course it could happen but equally we beat them 1-0 at their own gaffe last season. We even did them 5-1 on their own turf with Dyche as manager and McNeil starring. They came 8th last season after spending over 200 million. You don’t half pull them off.

Again, I don’t get how anyone can blame Moyes. He’s working with a paper thin squad and there’s not much more he can do about it than put that team out tonight.

He and his transfer committee have had all summer to address the squads weak points of cm, rm and rb. We havent signed a single one. It's incompetent and the club has been for 30 years now. Utterly sick to death of it.

Happy to revisit.

Im still trying to find out exactly what is up with Adam Aznou?

If he isn't injured and he was just left out of the squad tonight then that is an absolute farce...

Could have don’t things differently and could have easily made 3 subs at half time after the first half performance, I guarantee he would have made 1 change if we were a goal down at the break, he’s always been a reactive manager
