2025/26 David Moyes

I'm going to be very impatient with the Barry signing.

Not against the player himself, he is a useful player. If we have signed him and see him as a project and not ready to start games then everybody needs sacking.

100+ top flight games over multiple countries and scored goals for a team miles better than us. He is more than ready, he is not a kid who we need to wrap in cotton wool. Get him on the pitch.

We're looking like spending £40mill on a winger who fits the same bracket of work in progress.

Really inexcusable to not have him on at the hour tonight. Starting Beto is defensible, keeping him on is not. Starting him Sunday will also not be.

I would play a player out of position rather than Beto.
Beto is good at certain things. The way we set up tonight is not what he is (remotely) good at.

So why did he start the game?

He is not good enough to play in a system that doesn't suit him. Play to his strengths and he will be OK.

That's a problem of modern football though, manager determined to stick with their philosophy and put square pegs in round holes.

We need to see a reaction on Sunday. I'm sure Moyes won't be happy with that tonight.

Brighton is one of the worst teams we could possibly face in our first home game. Not a big enough name to get the fans up, also a team that doesn’t seem to feel any pressure in any game ever, play like robots to a system that’s been ingrained into everyone at the club for years and years. They will do us 3-0 if we’re lucky.

We were dominated by Leeds to do awful team selection and tactics and a seeming lack of the players knowing what they are supposed to be doing.

We didn't lose due to not having a player in a position. We had options in the attacking half, he didn't use them. The full backs were actually fine.

The squad (yet again) is massively unbalanced. But that is not why we lost tonight. Both things can be true.

Ndiaye, Gana, KDH, Alcaraz shouldn't be conceding 62% possession vs a midfield from the championship in that 1st half.

Thats down to the coach.

Moyes has no right to complain. None.

For years and years he happily shielded Kenwright from any scrutiny when that fella was regulary selling off our best assets and causing us to lose out on players by trying to do deals where we'd pay a fiver a week. Suddenly Davie has found his voice to complain because this time around he's not infallible to his bosses when we have a bad result?

Yes we need more, but we were never going to sort out every issue in one window. I trust the new directors because every signing so far has been a good one, or at least has the potential for a high upside.

It wasn't anyone except the manager who left Beto on the pitch, didnt bother using McNeil for his left-foot and held Grealish back for 70 odd mins.

Whats he good at again?

100%. be ruthless and brave.

Absolutely agree with you. I'm not saying we should sign world beaters but why are we spending what money we do have if they're not better than what we've got?

Either the recruitment team have signed a dud or Moyes has flapped it.
