Problem with this is that the pen puts the focus on the ref. Not saying the ref didn't cost us the game but the more significant problems were the selection and tactics. We have a £100m player sitting on the bench for 70 mins when we're getting battered? Everyone can see KDH needs to be deeper after 5 mins - nothing changes for 70 mins? We have a young skillful LB doesn't even make the squad when our LB is out?

I know we need recruitment but that's on Moyes. It didn't have to be that bad - we were much better after the changes.

Also, how have we got serious injuries to key players during the effing warm up to the season before matches even start?

We've had Moyes before, why is it such a surprise for everyone?

Ref was bad. Everton were bad. So much help needed with not much time to get it done.

I expect to see several more hand ball pens this season if that’s the new bar.

And that's what gets me the most here. You won't see that given again this season.

I’ve said top ten will be very difficult this season. I think those expecting Europe may have to amend their expectations. Lots of good sides this season, and we certainly don’t look like one right now.
