No pressure on leeds back four when they have ages to pick a pass. No team press, no desire to win the ball higher up the pitch.

When every recovery is deep in our half, the players have a lot to answer.

They didn’t look ready for competitive football which has been the worry throughout preseason and just carried into the first game.

Blame the manager as much as you like but the recruitment meant the manager had a terrible pre season. The trip to the tournament in the US was a waste of time. And the lack of early signings meant we were not ready to play

Bad pre seasons mean bad starts. I find it incredibly people still argue against it. Everton in the last 5 years are the perfect case study of why pre season and being organised matters if you want to start properly.

Why are we messing around with goal kicks, passing it around our box? We can’t do it. Play it long into the channel for Beto to chase. Get the opposition turned around.

I'm expecting a better manager personally. Some day in the next season and a bit I'd imagine I'll see one. Hope they're good!

I honestly think it is completely unacceptable for a team to be so badly coached and incoherent tactically.

I’d fire him now and get in a competent coach early doors. Can’t afford to be dragged into the mire this year and he has proven himself inept

We wont get dragged in. I'm not remotely worried about that.

What Moyes does almost every season is start horrifically. Either his pre seasons are awful or he gets a strop on when he doesn't get players (which would be hard to believe as that's what he is good at, going with what he has got)

(Firing him at this point would be absolutely ridiculous by the way even with is annoying flaws.)

I’ve not seen such incoherent off ball defending since martinez.

To be fair this is probably the first time we conceded so many shots against weaker opponent under Moyes.

The tactical consistency is unquestionable, the players didn’t turn up today.

He isn’t making deals though. He is being let down badly by the recruitment team.

No width and no fullbacks ! Think he planned to contain for 45 mins and then go at them but we never really got at them ! Without the pen it was a draw ! Would have took that ! Ref gave us nothing other than a foul by garner which he missed !
