2025/26 David Moyes

We can rightly bemoan this appalling recruitment window - but that was Leeds, tonight: a Championship team. Moyes had enough to go there and get some kind of result tonight. His negativity and refusal to make early changes contributed hugely to that disaster tonight. You can be as pragmatic as you like if you get the result. He didn't.

Why did Beto stay on the pitch?
Why did he wait until Leeds scored before bringing on his new striker?
Why did he stand idly and watch us pass the ball at snails pace for most of the game?
If he's trying to prove a point to the recruitment team that he's not got players, he's definitely not endearing himself to the new owners.
We have been rubbish all preseason and looked like we've never played together, then he pulls that out tonight.
Dreadful

What's the point of signing someone like Grealish, them being fit, and not starting him? why not set out to win the match if you've got players like that?

for me it just sums up his pessimism/negativity. it's what stops him from being a very good manager.

Don't agree there. He didn't have a pre-season. No chance he was starting this match.

You can need reinforcements and still put a side out to compete. Quite frankly that Leeds side is still championship but they looked far more up for it than we did. Why has Moyes not got the players at least as match ready as Leeds? If we’d turned up at Spurs say and got that outplayed with this side I’d still be disappointed. Honestly think it’s on Moyes this one.

recruitment team out!!!
Our lack of whatever we are lacking (full backs, a right mid) is not why we lost today.

Ndiaye, Grealish, Dewsbury Hall, Alcaraz, Beto, Barry, McNeil all available and did we even have a shot on target?

It's on Moyes tonight that. Cowardly starting line up and then only made a couple of subs and made them too late.

I have seen people saying he is trying to make a point to the owners, if that's the case (and it's not!) then he should be binned off tomorrow. He is paid to win points not make them.

But that's all mad conjecture anyway. It's on him tonight and hopefully he learns from it.

I actually think we comfortably win that with Branners. We can't take any risks without him. The team looks much steadier and willing to press with him in. Like I said- he is the one player that cannot get injured. We do not have the tools to consistently generate chances without some kind of overload or pressure.
