Getting Older.....Mens edition

I've been on them for a while aswell, the GP recently Increased them to 40mg which seems a bit high.
He also suggested taking them before I go to bed. No real side effects
I was switched from another statin (cannot remember which one) to Atorvastatin as it was cheaper. Not noticed any side effects and similarly advised to take them before I go to bed.

Was just switched to Rosuvastatin from Atorvastatin because it was causing too much weakness in my legs...felt like I'd just done max squat reps all the time in my knees and around my ankles...horrible side affect. The condition of my kidneys may have exacerbated it but Christ it sucked.
I had to do the same, my legs always felt like I walked up Mount Snowdon every day,
They always start you on the Atorvastation first hoping you get no side effects as it's the cheapest one

It's the inability to sleep a solid 6-8 hours which bugs me. Used to get up for work anytime between 4-5 in the morning but now retired and it seems my body clock has still to reset. Doubt it ever will.
It is a stress anxiety thing. At least it is for me, you worry yourself into a belief that you have to be up, you've work to get to, it's important, once that behaviour is learned, it takes some unlearning.
Some people swear by seven hours and getting up regardless how you feel. I feel like swearing at them.

A few years ago a very pliable doctor understood a pain complaint and let me have a weeks worth of diazepam/valium. I can still remember that restful sleep today. I understand how and why that particular medication could become very addictive. It also builds an immunity, so more is required to have the same effect. 'Mothers little helper', makes you wonder how stoned and for what reasons the housewives of the 60's and 70's were and just what fresh hell they went through coming off the stuff, as well as the cravings in the years afterwards.

Ah, sweet memories. Isn't life wonderful.

All I know is it's horrible and they should warn you of the poss side-affects but maybe they lost sight of it after all the other meds I had to go on after my diagnosis.

52 - eat well, hardly any crap, take protein extras, only have carbs when im going to exercise, drink loads of water, drink alcohol on occasion, but thats due to job proximity. I run 25-50 miles a month, i have started lifting in the gym, though i hate it, but can see the benefits, drink 2-3 cups coffee on the morning, do fasting in intervals. Exercise most every day - i feel movement is fundamental to your health. I do have reading glasses, but they aren't totally essential, Im of the opnion glasses teach your eyes to be lazy, or in effect, make them worse. Though obvs some folks need them out of necessity.

I take supplements, creatine, NAC, magnesium, Vit d, Vit B12, Vit K2, take black seed oil (recommend to anyone, though its not the tastiest tbh), and mct oil - couple of teaspoons on alternate days. Am considered fit as a butchers dog and probs look ten years younger than i am, have full head of gingerness also!!

So it's not all bad, but aging does defo suck balls big time!!

Sorry to hear about the Gingeritis.

Are the supplements all in one huge tablet or have you a frequent flyer card for Holland and Barrett?
