Having Alcaraz, McNeil, Barry and Armstrong (hopefully fit) on the bench at least gives us decent options and better depth to change things if it’s not going to plan. At least in midfield and forward options. What it does highlight though, is a worryingly lack of depth in defence. One injury to Branthwaite and we suddenly have no cover at centre half or full back areas other than the kid from Bayern at left back who doesn’t look ready.

I wouldn’t be against trying to pick up another centre half before the window closes even if it’s not a sexy signing. A loan maybe if one can be found. Branthwaite currently having issues and Tarkowski only just returning from major hamstring surgery makes me nervous. One more injury to Keane or Tarkowski and we’re snookered.

Moyes set us up well on the road last season, and I'm expecting the same tonight. Always a bit of a banana skin, away to a promoted side first game, but I'm expecting Moyes to set us up solid enough. Need Beto to hit the ground running and bag one tonight.
