Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

This surely must be deadline day for Dibling and Everton. We cannot surely continue this ridiculous game of chicken while the season is up and running and we're lacking a right-sided midfielder.

Just look abroad and get as good a right winger as possible — the money is obviously there. We've been made to look absolute fools the past weeks on this.

Look at how Forest go about their business, for example, then look at Everton. Embarrassing.
Have I missed something ? My understanding is that Everton pulled out of talks early last week, nand that's why the player returned to training with the squad. Is there any reason to think that we're still pursuing this ?

He will need a season before we see the best of him. Same for Barry and Aznou.
Exactly why these deals are so risky for a club like ours who haven’t got the quality at starter yet.

We’re about 3/4 players behind making signings like this IMO. If we had a Kubo or similar out there already it’d be perfect. We’re not in that position though.

I’d much rather Dibling than a Harrison etc. but I do think we need some proven quality in these areas as well. Aznou won’t be trusted for long periods at left back for example. Do we think Barry is worth 10-15 premier league goals?

Their owner has lost his marbles and essentially stuck two fingers up to PSR/FFP. It'll catch up with them sooner rather than later.
Net spend of only £20m so far (according to transfermarkt), compared to our £70m+

Difference is they had saleable assets. We released a bunch of players at the end of their contracts and only got a fee for Maupay.

What about the previous however many years as well? Looking at this season alone is pointless when it’s a rolling cycle.

But they'll have smaller Championship PSR loss allowance dropping off, and the larger PL one now, giving them more headroom anyway.
Also doesn't really matter when they seem to get off with only a small points deduction for a breach.

I mean, Forest did get a points deduction the year before last. And last season was Forest’s only season that wasn’t a relegation scrap. They finished below us the year before, and quite a few thought they would go down last year, but they had a great season.

A one-off season of them getting Europa League shouldn’t result in them competing in a different league to us.
Fair points that I missed out on. I just think in general we need to be more little patient. We haven't even finished getting the clubs new structure in place and we are already expecting miracles. It's going to take more than one transfer window to get a coherent long term strategy that involves gettting the youth set-up running again and getting things right.

You missed nothing. Until the window is over, I suppose there's always a chance isn't there? I am resolving to not click on this thread again until I see confirmed signing.

Which is why it’s important to chase and sign your Diblings and Fofana’s of this world. You simply can’t exist by splashing hundreds of millions every summer without selling too. That business model isn’t sustainable. All well and good having dinosaur managers who want “experienced premiership players” in their (or past) prime, but that doesn’t give you any saleable assets.

Which is why we have bought Barry and Aznou and extended Branthwaite. We have mixed up our recruitment so far. If that continues with 1-2 young guys more before the window shuts alongside some more experience that is fine. It cannot just be one thing or the other in our situation. Even Brighton have always kept a handful of experienced heads in their mix.

Milner came on on Saturday!

Dibling essentially best be the second coming of Jesus if he does end up joining us because he's been hyped up so much, and with a valuation of over £40m and our desperate need for a right winger, the pressure on him right from the off will be immense.

Just swerve this whole saga now and use the money on two decent players from abroad.
This is my issue, we are placing a ton of pressure on a 19 year old kid to come in and solve our right wing issue one we have had for years and years, we need two right sided players for me. I really doubt he would start week in week out even if he comes and the price tag doesn't matter he is 19 with one season in the PL, great potential but he needs a more experienced player to help him maybe Ndiaye but again right wing is not his position.

I think we will bring in Dibling, then another on deadline day as well as a CM.

No RB this window.
