Is this like when Spurs were deffo gonna turn their attentions to Grealish after the Maddison injury despite never once being linked?

Not at all they will have a glaring hole in their squad and they do buy youngish players, though Dibling could be a little expensive for them, but they will gave a lot of money to spare. Not saying they will buy him, the could. Chill mate.

Just watching city bring on 100 millions pounds worth of players form the bench and watching other teams spend big and was wondering has anyone spent less than us so far this season. Grealish is a loan aznaou is one for the future so somewhere in the region of 50 million? Probably inaccurate but it would be interesting to see who has spent the least in the league!

Fulham for a start.

Kieran Maguire pulled a number from thin air on the sale of the women’s team. Others ran with variations on his guess. There is nothing to confirm or deny it and likely won’t be until the accounts are published though Everton did initially brief a couple of trusted journalists that “we had not done a Chelsea” and that the sums involved were “modest”. We will eventually find out but for now any figure is purely speculative.

Chelseas hotel, womens team and others were of course worth vastly more due to the land values and success.

However, it would be sensible to maximise any sale advantage as you never know what room you may need tomorrow.

Btw that Kieran Maguire seems to be a rent a quote.

Grealish £12mil loan fee
Aznou £9mil
Travers £4mil
King £undisclosed
KDH £28mil incl add ons
Alcaraz £12.5mil
Barry £27.5mil

That would actually be a very smart move by them. Amazing player with a very very high ceiling, that El Khannouss. Would absolutely love him here.

He'd have been a good move by us. Albeit out of position or a formation change needed, he could have linked well with Alcaraz and Ndiaye.

If we are going for the double Pienaar (which is almost a certainty without a RB coming in), you bring in Dib and let Ndiaye work on his playmaking in the middle and do what he does best in functioning as that 2nd striker/goalscorer. This team can be very good if we get the wings going. It won't happen without heavy investment in the right side. Either has to be a class right back or right wing.

Ndiaye left
Grealish centre
Alcaraz right

But Leeds id not use any new signings, bar alcaraz.

Ndiaye isnt a player who has generated assists so far...grealish and alcaraz are players who can as central options.

I think we need both a RB & RW plus a top DM as well but i have no faith we'll get the types id like.

This has us mid table for spending so far

That looks way off.

Most people here would state the timeliness in the recruitment process this window has been a "failure" and no improvement on previous seasons for some time, even though there was the scope to do so this time around.

I didn't see him blaming others but he stated that it was difficult.

Timeliness in general is something that always needs addressing, and setting example of turning up on time and meeting deadlines would help.

A disciplined approach, rather than "wait it out and hope on the off chance " narrative of deflated expectations.

He could do with shedding the "dithering" tag for a "decisive" one, immediately.
I think the implications out of his mouth this summer have been that hes been let down by others who havent signed the players he wanted.

Mole rats amazingly do not get cancer
Almost but not quite true. They are remarkably resistant but it has been demonstrated that they can develop induced tumours if persistently exposed to radiation or ingestion of carcinogenic compounds in lab conditions, though they survive with the tumours unexpectedly well for animals of their size. Understandably they are being actively researched. It is uncertain about zero cancer incidence in the wild because who autopsies a wild mole rat?!

Just watching the city game and that Reijnders looks an absolute player, and he cost them £46 million.
You can pick up a top level player in his prime for £46 million but Southampton want £50 million for a player with less than 50 premier league games, and is still all potential.
We should have walked away the second they moved the goalposts. This lad isn’t the only winger in the world and at £50 million there’s far more quality and probably value elsewhere.
You have to understand that we can’t attract the players city, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal can attract. That’s basically what it boils down to

I understand what you’re saying mate, and I’m not suggesting otherwise.

My point is that there’s a whole world of players out there who can be scouted and signed for under £50 million. City, for example, managed to pick up a top player in his prime for less than that, and that’s despite the fact they usually pay over the odds in the transfer market.

What I find strange is that we’ve known since last summer that the right-hand side was going to be a problem. Yet here we are, two weeks before the deadline, chasing an unproven player from the English leagues who we realistically can’t afford.

Get all that but Moyes came in Feb, Thellwell left, and the new recruitment team isn’t fully in place yet. Feels like we’ve started afresh on who we are targeting and getting the obvious ones in this window (RW and obvious challenge)

I’d expect next summers window to be the one that throws up more surprise, high value signings and will judge the set up on how they do then

Hard to get all things right when so much change is happening behind the scenes

Every day is a school day.

Dibbling is a cert by the close of the window.
