I have to say, I was impressed with Sunderland’s performance today. At first I chalked it up to West Ham being in poor form, which is true. But give credit where it’s due. The black cats played some clean and creative football today. No goal was a fluke. I think we’ll do alright against them. Just saying I’m happy for them, especially because it was against the hammers.

Also, I’m so chuffed that we have Moyes back. Before Moyes was even mentioned, I thought Graham Potter might be our answer. But each manager has taken their clubs in opposite directions fast. You could say Potter was worse. He inherited a team in better shape than Moyes and West Ham was lucky they didn’t go down last year. They looked awful today.

Whoever described the premier league as a ‘transfer arms race’ is spot on.
Sunderland’s new signings, particularly Diarra and Xhaka were dominant.
The right signings can transform teams.

We’ve got a week to sort out our issues with 3 meaningful signings.
Then we have a week of loan ins and outs before the window closes.

I’d also add that you can’t overstate how big it was acquiring Adingra. He was on point today.

West Ham are where this club were three years ago. Lost Kudus who was a Richarlison type for them and their team aside from Bowen looks very average with a lack of pace and goal threat.

Chelsea at home for them next so think Potter isn't going to make it past November as they looked as bad as under Lopetegui.

Maxed out on the credit card last summer mostly signing players who are no better than what they have.

That's a great win for Sunderland though. Promoted teams have barely won a home game between them last two seasons. Already Sunderland have won as many home games as Ipswich did whole of last season so they need another 7-8 and they'll probably stay up.

Don't think the West Ham fans were too impressed with Potter last season. Vastly overrated for me, mid table finishes at Brighton, disaster at Chelsea.
Yup. I was delighted we "missed out" on him. Nothing since has changed my mind. Losing to a newly-promoted side should set the alarm bells ringing at a club that was in deep trouble last season. I'm not sure they have the cushion to afford a prolonged bad start.

Wolves 11 looks pretty weak aswell.

Hoever is one of those youth players RS sold for 15m isn't he?

Wolves constantly loaned him out and now he's starting v Man. City as they haven't bothered to replace Semedo.
