2025/26 David Moyes

De Rossi last season at Roma got sacked after 4 games. 3 Draws and a defeat.

If Moyes has a slow start he will face the same fate.

33/1 for Moyes to be the next premier league manager sacked. Good value that.
You realise the management groups are significantly different at both clubs right? I'd be amazed if TFG have that much say in managerial hiring/firing.

De Rossi wasnt sacked due to results, he was sacked for "other reasons", that will become clear in time.

Notice how he didnt take another job and instead bought his own club?

I too think Iraola is a very promising manager Dave, and wouldn't be upset to see him rock up here at some point. What I wouldn't want us to do though is sack a manager who doesn't deserve it just to make it happen. Not least because because we'd still have to pay Moyes for a year and that's critical now more than ever. It's a 100% PSR loss (money down the drain), and Moyes' wages would pay this years installment for a £30 million player over 5 years.

I think we'll at least challenge for top half this season. We're gonna need a bit of luck with injuries, or least not too much bad luck. I'd personally be happy with just not worrying about a relegation scrap, at any point, from August until May. I'd see that as progress. Some might say we performed better than that after he came in, but for me that's progress, even if not quite linear. For me, there's at least 7 teams we won't finish above and that's not including Man Utd, so for me, anywhere between 8th and 12th will be fine, it will be fine margins that seperate those places.
If we get 3 more in with quality I cant see any reason why a decent go for Europe cant happen this season.

Moyes might be suited to not getting those players in though...he never wants expectation to live up to.

Forest and Palace getting into Europe.

Lol.
And Leicester won the Title.

Still doesnt take away from it being the best league in the world.

I know, you want to down play the league, but its still, without question the biggest and best in the world.

Now as for football in general, well, the talent pool is at an all time low and has been for years now.

Remember when we had wall to wall players like Nedved, Nesta, Ronaldinho, R9, Batigol.

Now we have utter crappers like that turtle at Real.

It's the most hyped. That's not the same as being the best.

You've fallen for the hype.

The British one 🤣
To be honest , the honours system always makes me chuckle. People who have done brave , or selfless things for the good of others bundled together with people who have ingratiated, paid and done political favours for their gong .
When the ‘awards’ are also named for an entity which had ,to all effects and purposes , ceased to exist about 70 years ago , it makes the whole process slightly risible and empty of any real meaning .

Just straight up facts.

I don't want to see endless passing round the back, so you can keep your Pep's & the like.
He'll soon get found out in the Prem

Considering the rule breaking by Man City during Peps reign even Dyche would look like the British Ancelloti, had he been afforded rule breaking.

Nice narrative, but you can't possibly know this.

But if we're making things up as fact, then I'm gonna say Moyes only instigated the head of scouting he's previously worked with for 10 years.

Besides, I doubt he'd be fuming with them if they were only there because they were all hand picked by Moyes. Doesn't even make sense.
I know the outline of the discussions they had with Moyes so I'm not making it up. This structure is in place because of Moyes.

It's the richest league for sure, debatable about whether it's the best league quality wise though. Agree about the talent pool being at an all time low though

You know, sometimes, I just don't get the dichotomy some of the poster, here, there, everywhere show.

On one hand they keep on whining and moaning about the top 6 clubs using money to buy out the competition (I don't undertand what that means), and by forcing the other clubs to feed off the scrap.

But when the "other clubs", by sheer determination, skills, grit and gumption upset the cart (Leicester winning the title, Teams other than the so-called tom 6 getting into Europe), these people are the first ones to call them manure, and garbage and whatever the eff-not. I mean, what do they want?

Do they not want other teams to progress by using their manager's skills, the team's dogs-of-war attitude. You are downplaying Claudio Ranieri (Plus Nigel Pearson's before him), tremendous efforts to create a well-oiled machine that swatted aside the so-called big clubs. You are insulting their work, if you say that the premier league is garbage because Leicester won it. I mean, it's like saying.

Goliath wins everything, how unfair, he makes use of his size to steamroll everyone else. Life is so wrong, and ya-di-dah, but when David does fell Goliath, these people say, oh the whole match / fight was garbage because David won. Eff-this....
