Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Undoubtedly, they’ve got a touch of Keegan’s Newcastle about them. Just wondering, though, if this could be similar to our transition from Moyes mkI to Martinez: They’ve had their good, hybrid season and now the wheels fall off in defence and the season comes off the rails.

Almost certainly not, like, but it’s fun to think about.
But it will really be funny if it happens!

That performance by Senesi was as bad a centre half performance as you are likely to see. Absolutely dreadful. Truffert didn't look much better either.

Bournemouth need to reinvest in that back line and sharpish as they do a lot of good things going the other way. I'm not convinced Petrovic will be a good signing.

I’d understand trading out say 2 of your back 5 but 4 of them? Mental stuff.

Spent money on Petrovic even though Kepa was £5m.

Defensively, they looked all over the place last night, with the two full-backs not looking stellar and van Dijk and Konate making a fair few glaring errors.

You aren’t allowed to say this.
'Best defender in de weeeeeeeerld'

He's 34, not as quick as he was and is partnered with Konate, who is liable to an error and if the murmurs are true wants to go due to his contract.

With the two full-backs and other teams attacks improving, I can see them shipping a few more goals this season, which will put them under pressure.

With regard to Bournemouth, like you, I think their wholesale change of their defence is madness, and I think they'll struggle this year.
