Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Two teams that look good going forward and horrific at the back. Entertaining, at least.

Plenty of time to get their act together, like, but Liverpool look very gettable here.

So much fire power though. I think Liverpool always back themselves in a game like tonight where both defences are a mess. Then when they come up against a team that defends properly they know that inevitably means the other team has sacrificed its attack so they still feel they'll get 3 points.

Undoubtedly, they’ve got a touch of Keegan’s Newcastle about them. Just wondering, though, if this could be similar to our transition from Moyes mkI to Martinez: They’ve had their good, hybrid season and now the wheels fall off in defence and the season comes off the rails.

Almost certainly not, like, but it’s fun to think about.

It's great to think about but sadly they are too good. All eyes on any difficult away games they have early on to see if there's any hope of them dropping points there. That's the best we can hope for.
