Transfer Rumour Tyler Dibling

So say he starts 30 plus games for us and gets a few assists and goals he wouldn't be judged? My point isnt that he couldn't do it, its that its alot to ask a 19 year old with one season of senior football to come in and solve a right wing issue one we have had for years, when he is still developing himself. I like his potential but its a gamble for me we needed two RWs but we will be lucky to get this one.
The length of time we’ve had an issue has got nothing to do with how well a talented player fits in. I’d he comes in, and plays with better players than he is used to, he will do very well. The lad is very talented, and plays being his years.

I hope he does and I like him, but my point was its a gamble especially how long we are waiting and what if it doesn't happen? Whats the back up? Seems our eggs are in his basket. But at least we are taking a gamble, just wish it wasn't with so much dough and we had another option to take the pressure off is my point. I wasn't literally offering a bet its just a figure of speech, all I am saying that a 19 year old is a development player whether people like that word or not he is not a plug and play player, I hope I am proved wrong but most 19 year olds take time to fully reach their potential in my opinion and will be in and out of the team. Anyway here's hoping we actually sign him because we appear to have no back up plan.

Just get him signed ffs

We need someone to replace gylfi as our record signing anyways

If it's over the sake of a few million I'm inclined to agree. He's young enough we should always be able to get something back for him (30m? if he only turns out to be moderately good, so gamble of 15 perhaps?), and if it's less than what we pay, then least Southampton don't get anything more from us.

We have spent so long wincing at the price and not managing to find any alternatives who want to come that we are approaching the point where we simply have to buy him, even at a price in excess of what we value him at.

If news comes out that he’s signed a new contract at Southampton, it’s a guarantee we will rush out and buy/loan someone really poor in a panic.

It's not over a few. The 25% sell on is the major issue given the ridiculous size of the initial fee for such an unproven player. You can either have a low fee and a big sell on or a high fee and a much lower sell on. You can't have both. It just doesn't work.
