He is, but we’ve endured so much rubbish that some people are wary of getting excited and quick to expect the worst.

I agree, but a player like him joining us is no brainer. It may not work out, I hope it does of course, but it has to be worth a shot. If it comes off then it could be amazing. Plus, it shows the club is moving on from the many many years of deadwood. Baby steps for now, but the right direction.

I feel the same as you. He’s head and shoulders above the sort of player we are realistically able to attract, the club did the right thing in jumping at the opportunity.

He knew his time at City was up, and it certainly seems he wants to show them that they`ve made a big mistake in pushing him out. Nice to have a big name come in with an England place to try a nail and wants to be successful and not just take a big pay day and perform when it suits them.

We`ll believe that he`s here when the club announce on Monday lunchtime that he`s picked up an injury in training and will miss the first few games
