We have been calling for a change to the business model for years, we need to identify young talent develop with a view to huge profits. Buy talent on the way up as opposed to expensive players, ageing and on the way down.

People seem to thing he has to be at 100 the day he lands, he needs to contribute and progress and we as a club can do the same.

This is exactly the kind of player we should be signing more of, blended with experience to build a strong team.
I agree with your premise. But usually you dont have to pay £40+ million for that young player on the rise who has yet to do much. At that price there is a ton of risk because he likely goes way up or way down in value by age 22 since the uncertainty will pretty much be gone.

I am always a fan of aiming high but in a universe where the money you can spend is not unlimited, bad choices can echo for years.
