2025/26 Beto

First impression is that the Football insider story is a load of plop.

But, with all these strong denials via various reporters it might actually have some legs.
I mean, I have little doubt that we would punt him into the Sun in a flash, should the opportunity for an upgrade arise

Footy Insider is the crew that invented the £37m bid for Dobvyk a couple of days ago. They got ragged for it heavily (and not just by Evertonians) as fans pointed out that we had already bought Barry and had Beto. My hunch is rather than admitting to one load of made up bollocks or just quietly moving on they have invented another load of made up bollocks to try and give their first story some hint of credibility and boost traffic for both stories. This is how these BS sites roll. It is all about clicks and mentions to attract advertising. Truth is an irrelevance.

I get the impression Moyes isn’t having him . The manager seemed upset with the player , I think after Ipswich and I might be imagining it but I’m sure he made some disparaging comments about him in the US .
Moyes is honest and always says when he’s disappointed in a performance, which isn’t disparaging. He’s had a lot of very positive things to say about Beto working hard, improving, having the right attitude, etc. And we’ve seen a massive upgrade in his hold up play. Anyone watching him this preseason has to be excited. This is manufactured from the lazy writer’s belief that Everton can only have one player at each position, so a signing is fuel to speculate on exits.

If you run the numbers, Beto would have scored 20 if he’d started the full season last year.

Mate I’m not against the lad I love his effort and he looked significantly better after Moyes arrival .

I have concerns how good he is mind however my point was my reading of Moyes , doesn’t make me right in fact I’m almost certainly wrong .

I think he's someone most would be happy to keep if money was no object, but with PSR rules, and if someone makes a silly bid I think we'd listen to offers. Especially if we could get someone in.
