You couldn't though, that's the point. You can't compare a game like that to scoring at home to Ipswich, or bungling one in away at Palace. Watching that game, it was clear Grealish was something special. Dibling has done absolutely nothing to warrant the hype so far.

Said about a week ago in this thread that after links appeared I had a bunch of my Arsenal mates telling me he had an unbelievable game against them last season. As good of an individual performance as they'd seen in the league that year, against the best defense in the league statistically.

They are Arsenal fans with no reason to blow smoke up my backside. He passes the eye test massively and that's what it comes down to. Passed it for me last season when I watched him and seemingly a lot of people had the same experience.

End of the day he plays for Southampton, hardly a club with a huge media hype machine. If he played for the RS, Chelsea or Arsenal I might be more easily convinced that you have a point. You've seen how the ability of young players at non sky 6 clubs is downplayed though. Look at what the general consensus of Branthwaite is outside of Everton fans for example. Dibling is the real deal imo and the hype I think is justified.
