Getting Older.....Mens edition

Plenty of us all just about to hit 50! February for me. Got say I can feel a bit of a decline but the big one that’s got me is my eyes! Need the daft reading glasses for everything and they are always hidden, don’t even bother reading instructions or the back of a can for dates, it’s to annoying.

The brand is MUD:WTR but I image they’re all much of a muchness in terms of health benifits.
Taste is where they will vary wildly I suspect.
It’s a difficult one for me to say if there are any cognitive benefits, I certainly still struggle with concentration and forgetting things but maybe it would be worse without it! (Probably not)

Main reason I started taking it was anecdotal/ limited medical reviews on Lions mane an it’s potential to stave off neurodegenerative diseases.
Again probably hokum but I quite like the taste of the stuff regardless of any benefits now.

I’ve been taking lions mane for the last couple of months.

Don’t know if I’ve noticed that much difference but I do seem more focused on things I need to do and productive.

Do feel calmer to be fair as well.

I was taking Ashwagandha for that until quite recently, jury’s still out but I think I am getting back into more quiet rages with people I work with.

I hit the big 5-0 this year and looking back on the previous decade there are some things/functions I've noticed have definitely deteriorated.

Fringe - Much further back than it was
Hair Growth - Nose/Ears/Shoulders/Back all grow hair quicker and in colour compared to my scalp
Recovery - After exercise or even a long hike I've started to have a 30 min nap.
Focus - I now excel at procrastination. A doom scroll can go on for hours
Memory - what was I talking about? Whats the word I'm thinking of? Who are you??
Outlook - While a very jovial character I can see the expiry date on myself and know that time is in fact not as eternal as I thought in my youth.

I know all of the above is caused by (in simplistic terms) a decrease in Testosterone and an increase in Dopamine as we grow older but are any of you taking extra supplements or planning trips to Turkey or committed to finding the fountain of youth in an effort to counteract these aging side effects?
I'm 64, and relate to all the above, plus much more. I'm chilled about the whole package though because...

57. Health- aches and pains, but can’t complain, some are in a lot worse nick than me. Cant get in or out of a car without making some sort of noise. Eyes just deteriorated at 50. Went from not needing glasses to needing them for everything, i reckon a year for all this. Biggest thing from 55 I notice is tiredness or general energy levels have dropped off a cliff. I try my best to eat well and stay in reasonable shape. Stopped watching the news around covid time, some may say this ignorant to what’s going on but i just find it all too depressing. Would rather not know.
