Yeh all the reviews I've read have been 5/5 with likeness to Andor's impact etc.

I'm hopeful but been burned so many times by an Alien franchise

From what I read, the director wanted to go his own way, and doesn't really like the prequel Alien movies, so no tie-in to the films (but haven't seen to confirm).

It’s set before Alien, so I’d say no.

If you’ve not seen it the detectorists on Netflix it’s well worth a watch 3 series of 6 episodes of gentle humour stars Toby Jones and the geeky one from the office.

So many reviews saying Alien Earth is great so i couldn't wait and honestly i thought it was atrocious. Couldn't get into it at all. More like a teen soap version of Alien. No doubt I am in the minority but i have a simple rule, if it sends me to sleep in the first 15 to 20 minutes it gets deleted.
