Hes 23 and not survived a pre season yet. Every year he gets a small muscle injury. This year, last year, the year before and the PSV season. Its a quite clear trend.

I remember writing if Everton could start the season with the same settled back 5 that played under Moyes last year we’d get off to a decent start even regardless of incoming transfers.

Within a week we’ve lost the whole left half of it for a number of games.

Then everyone wonders why we don’t win anything.

Think he was probably going to be left back on Monday if Mykolenko is injured so this is terrible timing with both being out. You can keep O’Brien at right back, and play Keane next to Tarky, or move O’Brien to centre half and play Garner at right back. So still a couple of options there. But left back? I’m not certain after what we’ve seen so far that Moyes will risk the young kid and throw him straight in to Premier League action.

What kept him out of the pre-season tour? Was said to be a minor niggle. Quad wasn’t it? A little surprising he started training with the team on a Wednesday and then started a match 3 days later. Obviously don’t know how much training he was able to do in the UK.

Be wise to let this be FULLY fixed before he returns, which means a RB now solves 2 problems; actually having a RB, and allowing JOB to move over after Keane has given away a few penalties.
