NUFC aka The Horse Punchers

The LFC client journalists out in force to push this one through.

The bigger issue for Newcastle this summer is why their Saudi overlords are facilitating the recycling of transfer cash through their home league clubs which is just grist to the mill for the machine that keeps LFC and the other elite clubs going.

People raise eyebrows about multi-club ownership and then there is the emergence of this.

I don't see Newcastles are victims either, why does it have to be one or the other?

There are still better, more mature ways to handle all this. We would be absolutely raging with say Branthwaite if we reneged on a bumper contract and he did all this.
All the media reporting I’ve seen is focused on making him look as bad as possible and Newcastle as some sort of victim.

Of course fans would be raging, same as when Lescott left but if a player wants to leave and a club blocks it then you have to take more ruthless steps and a club needs to be realistic. The reported amount offered was already insane. Generally don't particularly blame the players in these situations.

If he really wants to join, he could reduce his demands by say £50,000 per week over five years, and there’s £12.5m more the RS could offer.

But being realistic, he will want a big move and a hefty wages, so it’ll not merely be about playing CL at a certain club etc etc.

If Liverpool aren’t willing to reach £150m, or even meet the horse punchers in the middle, then that’s their fault rather than Newcastle’s.

Is £150m really insane? Wirtz was only a fraction cheaper, Saints want £50m for their two kids, and Isak is only 25.

Think what liverpool offered was a fair price tbh, even in this mad market and newcastle are unrealistic in their valuation.

2 pretty disgusting clubs either way.

Meh about this. Do I think he’s worth £150m? No, not at all, but equally I appreciate their valuation when you compare it to previous deals.

I think he will eventually end up costing the RS about £125-£130m, with adds on making up the potential £20m difference.

They’ll end up with a £60m+ profit, which when all said and done, isn’t shabby at all - double the price you paid for him.

In the end, this whole transfer saga is what it is, players holding power, but if it’s true he’s move out his house, that’s outrageous.

He ain’t a good egg.

Moved out his rented accommodation if reports are true. I dunno. He very likely is an arsehole for sure, just think clubs always deflect blame in these situations.
I’m hoping he ends up staying at Newcastle and his form drops off a cliff.

I think the best thing for all concerned is Isak comes to us for a years loan and let all this settle down.

That way Newcastle save face and dont give him to the rs, the rs look like gobshites, we do Newcastle a favour and reluctantly take Isak off their hands and let him slug it out with Chermiti on the bench.

Everyone's a winner!

Thought you were going to burst into a song from that last line. Bit disappointed you didn't

And he went on to have a far more successful career than he would have done if he’d stayed. Admittedly that was a far messier case than this one as he left on a free to their local rivals.

Clubs will drop and move on players in an instant if it benefits them and fans are all too willing to get on players backs if they drop off in form.

This loyalty thing is all nonsense.
It is rarely a two way street.

Also, there is another messy case, step forth William Gallas. Now that was messy.

I dunno why Isak Is getting vilified in all this tbh. Promises were made that weren’t kept and he wants to move on to the league champions.

Everyone is going on like he’s the bad guy. Newcastle need to know their place. They haven’t a chance of winning the premier league for the next few seasons at least. Think Newcastle come out of this looking small time tbh.

They have never been and never will be a top level club. Middling club who have spent numerous seasons outside the top flight in my life time. Same for Leeds. The two clubs with major delusions of grandeur.
