We've tried to get a few, and none seem to be available. Fellows? he isn't good enough at all.

How much would George cost? Chelsea don't sell cheap
Have we though, it appears we’ve half heartedly made a few inquiries but we have not engaged in any negotiations that we can see like we have with Southampton. A lot of posturing I think, but then who really knows.

That was about 7/8 years ago prices have moved on from then.

Newcastle paid £45m for Gordon off us who is at similar level
That's a very good point - if Gordon is worth £45M, then surely a player with similar-ish worth a couple of years later isn't crazy at £50M.

Plus we have to pay a premium because we ain't in Europe because we've been badly run for (a couple, a few?) decades and need that to get a player in, even if we will allow them to play rather than sit in a squad waiting for an opportunity.

If he's who Moyes and the club want, I'd get him in. We're at a crossroads where we could make a leap from lower half to European place challengers if we play it right, so take the chance.

Don't know how much George will cost, but he is supposed to want to leave and they have just brought Gittens for big money.
Think i read George only has a year or so left on his contract.
Around 20 million plus add ons
Might get it done i suspected.
Few German teams in for him though and a few young players seem to be going there to further there carreers.

Bid on Forfana & Dibbling.

People are quick to say we can get a RW for less, but don't give actual names.

We all want one... but obviously Dibbling is actually keen, unlike others

nothing wrong with negotiation, but the power is in Southamptons hands, and rightfully so they want to achieve the best price for them! I understand what we ar doing but at some point you have to either piss or get off the pot!

If i'm Southampton though, I think I favor the sell on over the immediate funds. For starters they have limited time to reallocate that return this window. Second they lose Dibling the possibility they stay in the championship is raised, thus the assurance in future money in future windows maybe more beneficial as the EPL balloon payments may not be coming in. But most importantly they clearly think he has potential to be an 100 million dollar transfer. Id say the margins are close considering the risk but the difference of 10 million in immediate return to say the upside of a 20 percent sell on in a future 100 million dollar transfer? Thats 20 million oppose to 10 million straight up. If it falls to a median future sale, they likely make what they were going to get anyway.
20% sell on is normally only on profit
So if we pay 40 and he goes for 100 that’s 12 million for Southampton

Makes sense though right? Try to get back up and hopefully it won’t be as big a disaster the next time. These players will still have value next summer if they can’t bounce back.
Even if they come straight back up unless they invest heavily in their squad the chances are they are going straight back down
They were exceptionally poor last season

Are Southampton really in a position to be turning down ~£70m for Dibling & Fernandes with still 2.5 weeks of the window to go? Fair play if they are like but I'm not convinced..

I mean its the higher high financially speaking but I think the sell on is still more logical for them removed of that number. My point is Southampton would likely want to keep that possibility, because the more median is something like 20 percent of 60 million. That in itself is 12 million. We are buying for only 20 million less than that at best. If we don't think he can surpass that we likely shouldn't be doing this deal ourselves.

My point both parties should likely be thinking he can hit a 70 million evaluation in an optimistic, but somewhat reasonable projection. In that case thats fetching 14 million for Southampton additionally to say 40 million in the initial deal. In that case we are fetching something similar (16 million) in profit on top of what we paid initially. I could see both parties seeing that as fair.
I think the shock value in your original post was your use of DOLLARS
Is the MLS. that rich

Good point about Gordon to be fair. Was Gordon better/ worse or on a par with Dibling at that point of his career?
