I am loving the civil war that has broken out on Twitter between the RS Kopites and the Horse Punching Kopites.

Nothing surprises me in football. When Sol Campbell left Tottenham for Arsenal, I said to my mate who supports Spurs. There is zero loyalty in football. Players are only in it for themselves. They don’t care about the supporters.

And he went on to have a far more successful career than he would have done if he’d stayed. Admittedly that was a far messier case than this one as he left on a free to their local rivals.

Clubs will drop and move on players in an instant if it benefits them and fans are all too willing to get on players backs if they drop off in form.

I don't see Newcastles are victims either, why does it have to be one or the other?

There are still better, more mature ways to handle all this. We would be absolutely raging with say Branthwaite if we reneged on a bumper contract and he did all this.
