Starting 11

At this point I dont think it matters who we bring in between now and the first match, lineup will be one of:

Pickford
OBrien Tarks Branthwaite Myko
Gana KDH
McNeil Grealish Ndiaye
Beto

Or

Pickford
OBrien Tarks Branthwaite Myko
Gana Garner
Ndiaye KDH Grealish
Beto
Both of those formations are frighteningly lacking in pace. WE do not have pace off the bench either.

It’s interesting to note that in the premier league both Grealish and Ndiaye have been predominately played on the left wing

However when Ndiaye and Grealish played in the championship they were both predominately played as centre attacking midfielders and Ndiaye was sometimes utilised as a centre forward

I assume that therefore Ndiaye will remain on the left wing with Grealish as the central attacking midfielder and they will probably interchange roles constantly as the game goes on

Now it’s interesting to see that when Alcaraz was in Argentina he mainly played as a central midfielder and ocassionally played on the right wing

KDH both in the championship and premier league played as a central midfielder or a defensive midfielder

We haven’t got a proper right winger yet

I’ll take the second formation. Everyone remembers what Illy did on the right for his country, right? Stick him there and let Charly play as a game-changing sub in the 10, where he’s most comfortable. It’s possible our right wing solution was in-house all along.
The market is ridiculous at the moment.

Is NDiaye a better option on the right than the players we are linked with that are going to cost £40m plus?

Grealish and KDH have been great and versatile additions.

He can play there but its not his natural position also you need TWO players per position and pace as is mentioned above we still lack pace.

This. We are still quite a one-paced squad - towards the slower end!! I am sure Moyes knows this more than most and will adapt our tactics accordingly, but it would be great to have a player or two who could add that missing dimension on the break and option of an out-ball.
