Yes, he done alright but we all had high hopes he would be world class for us.

Same as now with Grealish. He will be ok and at the end of the season probably goto the MLS like Rooney did.
I'm not sure the two are comparable at all.
Rooney was clearly cooked when he left united.
He did great for us considering the stage he was at.
Grealish has plenty left in the tank, we're not likely to get prime Villa Grealish but even if we get last seasons player with fresh enthusiasm, we're doing well

No young players seem to want to come to us. We kill young players, few days ago folk were on our new left back Aznou saying he was gash after a short unexpected cameo.....
Aswell as Grealish being a proven top class player, having masses of PL experience and multiple trophies we dream of.... he heigtend our profile, makes other players interested in us and takes pressure of any young players we can bring in and can learn off him. Everyone will learn alot from this guy and we get a winner in the dressing room who the other player cant help but respect!
No I think what we've seen so far is that established younger players who think their next step up is playing for a champions league team don't want to join us.

If you think he’s going for 20m without a stupid buy back you are naive.

And we’ve signed a number of good you players and have reduced the average age of the squad massively. However, you can’t *just* have a squad of young players for the future. You need players of experience around them.

Grealish was club captain at Villa. He played a pivotal role when city won the treble. He’s 29 and a top class player. This isn’t ginola or Gazza or Rooney mk2.

He’s immediately our best player and will make everyone around him a better player.
Agreed.

As well as reducing the average age we've increased the quality in vital positions. A couple more signings (right side) and we're in a very good position

There's deffo some non-believers like. Seen some sentiment like this on social media as well: -

Nor am I, but nor do I pander to revisionist views about player of our past. He took £12m from the club for 25 appearances and an 11th placed finish with Carlo Ancelotti as a manager. And he’s your hero 🤣🤣🤦🏻🤦🏻
No pal he's not my hero, he's just a much better player than Grealish. Sheedy and Southall were my heroes.

No we didn't. The only one any of us got excited about was G.Barry. We all knew Hughes, Gazza and Ginola were finished. No one though Delph was that good even at his peak and Rooney was just nostalgia. Grealish should be at his peak, especially since he doesn't rely on pace and he has had quiet a bit of rest the last few years. Beardsley was 30 when we signed him. He played at the top for another 7 years and we sold him way too early.

Beardsley was quality for us.

We all got nostalgia for the return of Rooney and had high hopes. He done alright.

Have a feeling Grealish will be the same and do ok but we will go over the top and hype him up.

I hope he hits the ground running and drags other players up with him, but, there's a chance that if we are pants, and not playing to his strengths, that he'll lose interest in the move. That's my take on it.
