Yep forced out by Benitez, their past history is well documented and we didn't pay a penny for signing him either. Who said it was my hope and expectation I simply stated he was a class player unlike Grealish. That's it. You seem to have got the hump because I'm not fawning over Grealish
Nor am I, but nor do I pander to revisionist views about player of our past. He took £12m from the club for 25 appearances and an 11th placed finish with Carlo Ancelotti as a manager. And he’s your hero 🤣🤣🤦🏻🤦🏻

Season ending hamstring injury early on and then pictured staggering out of PopWorld with a woman who isn't his wife heading towards The Adelphi.

or

Finish the season as POTY, a cup winners medal, a place in Europe next year after the steadying influence of him and his missus being invited round the Colemans gaff for dinner every week.

To be fair mate we’ve just signed an 19 year old left back a 22 year old centre forward and we know we’ve bid on two wingers 19 and 20. You need a sprinkling of experience to go with promising youth.

Also a name like Grealish will no doubt attract other prospects too.
Yeah I know that but they all seemed to have been signed to fill in gaps and you can see where they are going to be playing. We've signed KDH which also makes sense and is a nice bit of balance. Why not continue in that vien instead of wasting money on a loan for Grealish. Also where is he going to play exactly and does he fit into the team?!

This is what genuinely frustrates me. We should be trying to build a team for the medium term and not wasting money on people like Grealish. Paying £20m for Mcatee makes much more sense. The fact that we are thinking about this as a 'premium loan' is concerning. Stop spunking money on 'names' for the short term and build a good young side.
If you think he’s going for 20m without a stupid buy back you are naive.

And we’ve signed a number of good you players and have reduced the average age of the squad massively. However, you can’t *just* have a squad of young players for the future. You need players of experience around them.

Grealish was club captain at Villa. He played a pivotal role when city won the treble. He’s 29 and a top class player. This isn’t ginola or Gazza or Rooney mk2.

He’s immediately our best player and will make everyone around him a better player.

Mark Hughes
Gazza
Ginola
Gareth Barry
Fabian Delph
The return of Wayne Rooney

I'd say the only real success was Gareth Barry.

We all thought they would be massive hits with us.
No we didn't. The only one any of us got excited about was G.Barry. We all knew Hughes, Gazza and Ginola were finished. No one though Delph was that good even at his peak and Rooney was just nostalgia. Grealish should be at his peak, especially since he doesn't rely on pace and he has had quiet a bit of rest the last few years. Beardsley was 30 when we signed him. He played at the top for another 7 years and we sold him way too early.

Spot on
Add to that he’s been under pep and training and playing with far better players than we have his standards should be impeccable..
That alone should benefit everyone around him

We’ve signed a Marquee lads!
