Last Film You Watched

"Dangerous animals", went into this not really expecting much, I wouldn't class it as horror it's more of a thriller, serial killer with a shark obsession, the two main characters play the roles really well and there's enough going on to keep you interested, worth a watch
This was very good

Watched Jurassic Rebirth at home with the family recently, better than I expected - I have not enjoyed any of the films since the 3rd in the series, no Crichton no story

This was decidedly more story than just dinosaurs but fairly predictable (including scenes that were virtually a copy of original film)

Still believe original book by Crichton actually trumps the original film which changed cinema, story >> special effects

Amazed they didn't stay more faithful to the book raptor chase and escape. I enjoyed the book. The film also.

Good movie but left the theater a bit disappointed. Wasn't as suspenseful as I was hoping for. I will say it was a good moviegoing experience. A few scenes you could feel the tension in the theater. I also want to point out how funny this movie was at times.

3.5 stars out of 5.

The Naked Gun (2025)

Not my type of humor but funny nonetheless. Highly recommend it.

Watched it today, you're spot on, could have been much more, shame, maybe shouldn't have watched Bring her Back recently, as that trumps this. Benedict Wong scenes and the running, just made me laugh in the end, disappointing.

So there's definitely a sequel happening?
Definitely the way it ended.
I Watched the new fantastic 4 film last week, basically the rise silver surfer movie with the odd bit of tinkering. Different actors.
One Film I really thought was excellent was,
Words of war
True story of a Russian Journalists , who is basically anti putin, so well acted and a powerful story, not one for people who like constant action.
Maxine Peake Particularly strong as the main character.

Has anyone watched this? I'm into the last act now, and it's gonna need a miracle to quell the venom I have building here. $45m dollars for this.
So, borrowing from Buck Rogers some, Adam Driver is piloting a spaceship loaded with people for some reason and ends up in a heavy gravity meteor shower of sorts that teleports him and his vessel back in time to the age of the dinosaurs, and happens to crash land on earth somehow.
Crash lands and the vessel is broken in two. Yet somehow all the ships functions remain in tact as does his survival gear, and a non English speaking little girl reminiscent of his sick daughter (everyone else is dead). From here, we get a few shot for shot moments from Jurassic park, Driver gruffly tries to explain the plot to us and her that can't understand, and somehow, we come worse off. It's got Deep Impact/Armageddon moments, some heavy borrowing from Alien: Covenant (so much pan pipes) and then a moment from the Nostromo going up to cap it. (with so much dino destruction and all the apparent bodies strewn about the place, you'd have thought the place would have been crawling with carnivores, yet he starts with dino's the size of cats and works up from there to the seeming t-rex).

Who thought any of this was a good idea? Moronic, a total waste of time. Driver took the money and this get's consigned to the bargain bucket at the petrol station. Abomination. What a waste of time.

I didn't put this in a spoiler, as really it's a health warning.

It was originally a Netflix film I think, which kind of explains why it was a bit rubbish.
