Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

I like Grealish and don't want to be negative, but I have a couple of real concerns about this:
1. Ndiaye was our best player last year. He has genuine quality. KDH also has genuine quality. Charly has quality and potential to improve. All of these are on permanent contracts here and if any two of them start with Grealish, we're going to be overloaded on the left / number 10 space. If Jack comes for a year, then unless Ndiaye moves to the right and we drop interest in Dibling, I don't see how we got all these into the team not how we keep all those valuable players happy and improving.
2. It costs a disproportionate amount of our cash. At the end of the year we have nothing: Jack walks away or we have to spend a massive wedge to keep him. I don't see how we can afford that and significant investment on the right.
3. No doubt Pep's focus on ball retention has had a stifling effect on Grealish. Less running at players and more backward passes. I'm not sure why people think Moyes is the type to give him free rein - he's one of the most conservative managers in the league. I just don't buy the idea that Moysie will encourage Jack to play to his strengths and take players on at every opportunity.

Re number 1….
We don’t have to play them all at once.
The premier league is a squad game.
Injuries are inevitable and substitutes are more important than ever.
Without more signings our squad is very stretched.

If we do sign Grealish, it’s down to Moyes to manage the squad and keep the players happy.

You make some good points but we need a squad and players to be on their game 100% fit and having options will help with that.

Also to play them all in the same team is possible.

Ndiaye
Grealish KDH Dibling

Have Ndiaye as a false 9 as such
City and Arsenal have not had big strikers and done ok over the years

Re: the impact on Alcaraz starting if we get Grealish, that's on Alcaraz it's his problem to force himself into the team.

Think as a fan base Evertonians get a bit too wedded to certain players starting, probably because there's not been much to shout about. Hopefully under TFG we start to see a proper deep squad where we're guessing each week whose starting.

For me, Pickford, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, N'diaye are the only guaranteed starters next season. Maybe Gana unless we sign a younger better defensively minded midfielder.

….where are those odds, certainly worth a couple of quid?

Grealish is now 1-4 to join us, Dibling is evs. A £1 double pays circa £2.50.
Joking apart, this is probably the best summary on what is happening with regards to these two that I could have expected.

Unless I see a confirmed signing tag on the thread, I am not looking at them until tomorrow for the next odds update Eggs.

I think you can comfortably throw KDH in there too

You really can't think of any creative players who were allowed to play to their strengths under Moyes? From Arteta and Pienaar to Paquetá and Kudus, there's always a place for expressive players in a Moyes system.

I've got concerns over his hunger, but there's no doubting his ability. As with all new signings I, will give him the benefit of the doubt and won't say anything negative about him unless it becomes blatantly obvious he doesn't care and/or is not trying over a prolonged spell in an Everton shirt.
