i'd agree if we was also forking out a 100m transfer fee...

the fact he would be on loan... changes the situation regarding his wages.

im not sure you could spend $13mill elsewhere (wages&fee) on a player that will offer as much for THIS season.

Yes, it's sunk cost, but it will be a player that is ready to offer an immediate impact to the squad.

I’m not fully convinced on him. Just seems one of them where it’s been and gone and we will be getting a player past his best. For 250k that’s a big gamble.

Not for me mate, I think we’ve a tendency to remember the season or maybe less of good with Andres, we forget he wasn’t great for a lot of his time here.

He burnt bright for a while. Joe actually axed him if my memory is right. Think he was struggling getting up and down the line before his time was ending here.

Limpar was world class on his day. Superb at Arsenal. Wasnt a great side he came into at Everton. We were fighting relegation. He was a jewel often in a joe royle dogs of war spirit side. Ive got to disagree that he wasnt quick. He had a rapid burst of speed to go past players. One of my favourite days out was the elland road semi final v Spurs. He took the piss out of them that day. Head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. Theres the derby game at anfield where kanchelskis scored. Kancho got all the headlines. It was limpar pulling all the strings.
He was a brilliant talent on his day. He could go quiet in games and inconsistent. But when he was on it. Brilliant.

Not remotely close to Alli! Lads been held back by Peps tactics for too long. I implore anyone to watch highlights of his time at Villa when he was given reign to enjoy his football. Night & day. He enhances this team and other players in it. 29 is still prime for a player, would be great for us if we pull this one off.
I wanted us to get him years ago when Villa went down. Some people on here were against it then. I’ll be more than chuffed if he signs. Top player.

As most are saying, we need pace on both wings.

Am I right in thinking that a deal for a Grealish will cost 12m up front plus wages?
For a player that has done nothing for two seasons and would only consider us because he wants to stay in the North West because it suits his current familial situation?
I can't be alone in thinking that deals like this are the quickest way to the workhouse.

Mate...I'am being slightly tongue in cheek when suggesting we've had no fast players since 90s.

I expect better for you.

Also you'd have to better than naming 3 players.

I just don't see pace as the big deal others do mate, yeah you don't want slow players - but if you have a side of players with good footy brains and decent pace you'll outclass a team of roadrunners.

Barca by and large weren't a super fast team the likes of iniesta, hell peak united when their kids broke through had Keane - scholes, butt, Beckham only Giggs was anything special pace wise but they all had great footy IQ

It’s like Larry Bird, Gretzky, Pirlo, etc. a fast brain and great technique is much better than being an athlete.

Pace is overrated. If you have quality players with a footballing brain you can open teams up. Look at how we played with James Rodriguez. You can open teams up with quality passes and vision.

Kanchelskis though in the Sheffield Wednesday away game was the greatest individual display I've ever seen.
