It might have been said on here already.
But I wouldn't play him out of position (central) for anyone.
That includes Ndiaye and KDH.
In transition he gets us up the pitch quicker than anyone in the squad.
Tend to agree. KDH got turned and running towards the attacking goal and had no ideas (first match and all). That’s where Alcaraz thrives. He needs to be in the center to get the most from him. Don’t think he’s a winger or wants to be confined to the inside channel.

Strikes me as an instinct player. Put him in a situation where he has to make the play and he will. Wouldn't consider him a traditional number 10 that likes to slow the game down and can scan the field. Made for counter attacks and can occasionally pick out the magic ball like he did for Beto with that cross last season. He wants to get forward quick and cut out the buildup.

Thought he did ok yesterday. Great header that nearly went in, and a lung busting run that allowed Barry that shot on goal. Sometimes gets caught napping on the ball, but generally he's a decent squad player.

He was sound last season, people now writing him off preseason, new shape finding, new player mixing warm up games

Why are we always so quick to turn on players?

Few times yest KDH was doing what alcaraz was doing in the last game at newcastle. Going through the middle. Alcaraz was trying to make space with his runs but you could see it was all a bit new and just a bit rusty.
I hope we dont give up on this because both him and KDH look to have the footballing technique and footballing brain to create. Ive been watching so much dross for the last 5 years esp. Im desperate to see these two work together and enjoy some decent footy.

So much praise for KDH in the 1st half of the Roma game but as you said, he fell over, didnt release the ball quick enough and was disposessed.

He's an 8. Alcaraz is a natural in that role and lethal on transition.

The number of times Moyes has dropped him or moved him out of position is utter stupidity.

….but last season you said ‘Moyes is a master tactician’, so I’d assume you rate him very highly and he knows exactly what he’s doing ;)

Totally agree, I actually trust Moyes on this. There was too much positivity from Charley last season to suddenly become crap
