12m for Grealish for a season would be a good deal in my opinion.
Get it done Everton!
Get it done Everton!
I’d love to see him centrally, behind the striker and bang in front of the midfield to offer runs forward and play killer balls to the striker. Ndaiye on the left and a new RW…it would be streets ahead of what we’ve had in recent years.
The creativity between him, KDH, Ndiaye and hopefully Dibling would be insane.
Would need a better goal output than he’s had at city of course but we may offer him more freedom to attack the space in the middle of the park
Id suggest paying his 250k a week wages is actually more affordable here. Player cost is the A. Wages and B. Transfer amortization. If we pay his 250k wages its 13m a year. Thats also the same annual cost as buying a player for 35m and paying them 120k a week. Id suggest Grealish is better than anyone we can bring in for 35m(lord knows we have tried with Fofana/Kubo/Dibling).And then he takes his 12m and leaves to go somewhere else. If this was a free transfer at more reasonable wages it’s a different deal. On loan with us reportedly covering 250k a week is not it.
I actually think this is the best of both worlds. You’ll get a skilled and motivated 30’yeqr old player with no commitment beyond this season. For us it does matter, we need to build up a core group still.
I totally get the concerns from where you’re coming from, but it seems we’ve had issues in convincing our first choice targets from joining from an ambition/attraction standpoint. Getting someone as high profile as Grealish over the line could be the catalyst to push some others into motion and build the core as you say. We become a more attractive option with him in the team, even if it’s temporarily. You have to wonder if Dibling would push harder for a move if it meant playing with the likes of Grealish all season going into the World Cup.For us it does matter, we need to build up a core group still.
Yes, they're trying to get us to take him permanently. It's purely the art of negotiation.here’s what i don’t get
city know we want a “loan”
but are saying they may “sell him”
so if it’s the latter it rules us out?

I don’t really believe in this as a theory. We’ve done it before and it didn’t really matter then.I totally get the concerns from where you’re coming from, but it seems we’ve had issues in convincing our first choice targets from joining from an ambition/attraction standpoint. Exactly, its a loan fee.
We are not paying his wages, why do people think when you sign people on loan you pay their wages?
Man City will continue to pay his wages, as per their contract that they signed with him.
It is not difficult is it.
At no point in time EVER, do you ever pay a loan player his wages.
It's been reported as no initial fee, but yes, swerve if we have a fee as well as his wages.Villa paid Chelsea £11m just for a loan fee for Ross Barkley... Before wages.
If we have to pay a loan fee in addition to the wages reported, then yikes. Hopefully not.
