Sandhills station

The barricading worked well and did stop congestion. For people getting the Hunts Cross train there are over 40 stairs, 4 staircases, to the new footbridge. This would be very difficult for people with mobility or COPD issues. They isn't any signage regarding the stairs and none of the staff were advising fans about this. We mentioned this to a member of staff on the platform who at first tried to joke about the number of stairs. I know there is a lift but for safety fans should be advised prior to the start of the barricading.

I left after the final whistle of the main game. Took 13 mins to get to Sandhills then got 5.28 train to Headbolt Lane.

The filtering worked a treat and there were dozens of staff, some with loudhailers. Surprisingly, it was extremely well organised - let's hope it continues!
Sounds good, hopefully they haven’t all come away patting themselves on the back thinking it’s all sorted now and they don’t need as many staff on etc.

I chatted with one of the staff, commenting on the shedloads of helpers. Jokingly he said wait until a few months have passed and there will only be about three staff on duty!

Am desperately hoping that quip doesnt come true!

Left after the main game, casually strolled to Sandhills Station, barricaded into 4 channels, one for Central Station, one for Southport, one for Ormskirk and one for Headbolt Lane( Kirkby), just before train arrived they usher that destination upto the platform. Worked well yesterday, so hopefully that's a good sign, had been concerned myself after reading previous events.

Maybe that's what the "get you're steps in" jibe was about. I certainly felt them tbh.
