^^^People can't really comprehend huge figures - money, measurement, whatever. I think moaning about "wages", that lovely working-class term - when these are the "salaries" of top professionals, is about 35 years too late. Jimmy Hill fought for fair wages for working-class players. The game is now globalised. The unintended consequences of Jimmy's sterling work can be seen today, exploited for what they are.
We pay a few players over 100k as it is. If we reject all of this, we need to embrace relegation to the Championship. But even second division players are, in some cases, earning objectively ridiculous amounts.

Very much this, my friend.
Fretting at paying Grealish (or anyone) such wages harks back to the days when we were skint. I mean Kenwright skint, or Moshiri how-to-utterly-misunderstand-psr skint.
I get that many are still sceptical, but surely we appear to have broken that cycle now, new wealthy new owners and a shiny new stadium? If we aspire to be a European club, we must get used to playing with the big boys.
If we take Grealish on for a year on these terms and it doesn't work out, will it really cripple us financially?
