TV Series

Finally got around to watching The Expanse.

Six series x 62 episodes.

It’s a magnificent series and space sci-fi at its best.

The first series is ropey, feels disjointed and done on a budget, but once you get past that it’s tremendous.

I won’t try and explain it, as it’s that complex, but the nuts and bolts of it are :

200 years in the future, there are three colonies, Earth, Mars and The Belt.

The Belt serves Earth and Mars, who are constantly on the edge of war with each other, whilst The Belt harbours a resistance movement, that is hostile to both. Throw in the discovery of an alien organism, with the power to conquer worlds and you’ve got the basic storyline.

Would’ve been a 10/10 if it wasn’t for the first series.

If you’re a sci-fi nerd and you haven’t seen it, it’s a must watch.
On your recommendation I am trying again. This will be my 3rd attempt. As you suggest I have failed in the first series twice already but I think a lot of this might have been down to Thomas Jane. I never quite got over his turn as the Punisher. Having loved the comics I don’t think I’ve ever felt quite so let down🤣.

I thought it was alright. Entertaining.

Otherwise, there's nothing else really... The new season of 'Dexter', maybe?

Nah, watched a few seasons of the original before it descended into madness.

Has anyone seen The Assassin on Prime? That’s next on my list.

Keeley Hawes? If so its DREADFUL.

I gave up on the 1st attempt.

Seen some more stuff about Alien Earth and as someone who has never even managed to make it through the first film I'm giving it a pass (well maybe on double speed with no audio and subtitles.....)
