Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

It seems all the press and co seem to be confused about the exact amount we seem to have bid. Press & Radio in Southampton say we are a few mil away from the so called 40mil they want. Yet the "Normal Press" say we've already had a total of 43mil mil turned down with Saints wanting 45mil guaranteed and 5mil bonuses - What the actual real amount we've bid and what they want, who knows

Can't see it happening. If Southampton don't need to sell him then why would they compromise on this? Although they may not ever get a better offer for him, he is one of their best players and they want to be promoted from the Championship. If he is a key part of making that happen then that'll be the end of it.

Shame. After watching him a couple of times this year I thought he was poor, badly drifted out of games after the first 15 minutes and horribly one footed. But after seeing his highlights it's clear he's gifted. Although he's all left foot, he can take the ball and lay-off with both feet, finds space and moves into space so well. A Rolls Royce of a player. I'd give them £50m now and draw a line under it all to get him.
Because he has two years left on his contract and won’t be signing a new one. If they can’t get 50mil for him now they definitely won’t be getting it with just one year left on his contract next summer

Hopefully we get this done soon, longer it drags on the less time we have to address other issues, especially so if we do t actually get the lad after a protracted period.
I agree mate, but fear that we've become the stalking horse in this one. Everyone now knows the boundaries set by us and Southampton. Who blinks first? It looks like we won't, nor should we at the price they're holding out for.

But you can see a late bid coming in from a more attractive team than us, just when Southampton have run out of road.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that, and if it does, the player himself sees the opportunity he has with us rather than say a Chelsea or a City.

Wasn't it reported earlier last week that Soton had given him permission to talk to us?

If that was the case then surely any difference in valuation would have been minor and it was the payment structure and add-ons to be agreed?

Just seems to me that Soton thought they saw us coming and could milk us dry so they moved the goalposts on the outline of any initial agreement and we haven't played ball as expected.

Not sure if this happens or not but I hope and expect we stand our ground on what we consider to be a fair valuation.

More importantly if it doesn't happen it can't be at the expense of missing out elsewhere.

The club needs to get this agreed tomorrow or immediately move down the list. We cannot go into the opening fixtures with no right winger in the squad, what kind of inept strategy is that?

I thought the whole idea of bringing in new people behind the scenes was to make things better.

….the window doesn’t close until the end of the month and I expect we’ll need the full extent of it to bring in some targets, maybe including this one.
And that's the grim reality we face isn't it?

He's clearly one of our priority targets, and they are clearly resigned to selling him. But if no-one makes a bid at £50m by 30th August they have a tricky climb-down on their hands.

For a prime target, we're forced to play that game.

…..exactly, and it might be similar with other targets.
