When they were first introduced the poor lady in charge of the Guinness ones by me in the park end kept using the carling glasses. Guinness did go all over the floor after her 4th time of trying, bless her.

Concerts it's expected as they're about what 5 hours and you're trapped, but trying to get people to come earlier and stay later for football every other week won't work when there's boozers outside and not far from the city centre.

It is in line with concerts and shows. You haven’t got much choice if your NEC etc. It’s a little more “premium” than I thought it would be given you can just hold your nerve for 2 hours then go elsewhere. The fancy chicken bowls might be very nice, but a £3 sausage roll might appeal to more people? I don’t know. Times have changed.
I do think the argument that we all wanted the club to progress, and part of that is maximising revenue, so this was inevitable, is a bit fanciful. If they reduced the spend per person on match day of 50,000 people by £2 each by lowering prices, it’s £100k per game for 19 home games. Thats not making the slightest dent at all in squad development. Across a whole season it would be a few months of Doucoures wages.
And that’s ignoring the fact that when stuff is perceived as reasonable, people spend more, so you recoup a lot of what you lose through the price cuts.
I personally don’t care, and will probably buy whatever if I feel the need. If not I won’t. Same as every event. Just don’t think having a premium stadium necessarily meant we had to have premium hot dogs. End of the day, the aim is to watch the match. The main relevant income comes from Sky and sponsors, not really from zero alcohol Budweiser.
