Read this back... It sounds like you said we could have used Keane in this deal, BUT instead, gave him a new contract. It didn't make sense.

Anyhow... Do Southampton even want or need a central defender who isn't good enough to be 4th choice at a 13th place prem team, but would be such an asset to a team going for the Championship title?

Sadly that's Keane's level = the championship .... all I suggested was to throw him into the transfer mix for Fellows or Dibbling ....

If you lot think Keane is worth staying on you should not be on this thread !

The mistake was offering him another 12 months - he is our player we could still offload him in any deal for a championship player as Keane would be an asset at that level = not for us !
