Interesting take from a Southampton fan. Have heard a fair few of them make comments along these lines.

“Highlights are him going past players with ease, followed by a shot a yard the wrong side of the near post, or a cross to nothing, or down the keeper’s throat. “

“He’s got big potential but we’ve seen very little end product, very little work rate off the ball, some would say questionable desire”

It doesn’t mean he couldn’t do the bizz for us like.
Which Southampton player has plenty of end product last season?

Mateus Fernandes has 2 goals and 4 assists and already the best.

United wanting £50m for Garnacho and Madueke going to Arsenal for similar amount shows they are over pricing.

It's up to them though isn't it and we'd want to get as much as we could in their situation. They're gambling having an upset player and risking any potential of a world cup call up for him.

Remember their clubs both want(ed) them out pronto and they would accept £50mil+

Southampton didnt want to push the player out.

Would be massively underwhelming if we end up with the likes of Solomon, Reiss Nelson or Tom Fellows. Starting to look more likely too at this point.
As the 2nd winger then maybe but agreed.
Given we want 2 apparently, I’m also surprised that we haven’t tried to buy the bench filler yet, unless this is part of the financial chess game.
I’d expect the loan market to open imminently which will change things around

The problem with that is, the right wingers with pace we are interested in are either, valued too highly by their clubs, making the transfer fee to high for us, or, do not want to come to Everton and are holding out for a team that can offer them European competition football.

Nobody said it would be easy…..this is where the scouts earn their money and we capture players before they get to the likes of Villarreal

The amusing part of this saga has been posters claiming to know how deals are done and acting as if everyone else is below them and clueless.

Those chaps have never done a deal of circa £50mil in their lifetime. They've never understood the psychology of doing a deal.

Computer games and big imaginations they claim others have, while they dont seem to be able to face facts...

...Everton are now utterly incompetent at transfers.
