Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

We could have found out the actual valuation for the player in June if we wanted.

Rather than throwing in a 27m bid, which we knew would never be accepted in a million years.

Either pay the money to do the deal or go and sign someone else. The time for lengthy negotiations is long gone and it's the time for getting deals over the line.

If people want to defend the club that's absolutely fine. But all I see is another disorganised transfer window where we aren't in position to have a good start to the season

I haven’t got the energy on a Friday for this thread.

And this has been happening time and time again this summer with our targets. We must be on a player signed every 2 to 3 weeks...this is very poor. At this stage we will be lucky to get another couple of additions before the window closes.

Haha good one.

You do not start off stupidly low.

Someone put an example of buying a house and us putting an offer in of 105k ish on a 200k house…. Or better yet a house which was worth 400k 6 months ago according to reports.

You gain absolutely nothing from putting in such a ridiculously low offer. Sales is all about win-win.

You annoy one party and they are always going to play hard ball unless they are in a desperate position.

There is only one party in a desperate position in this case and guess what it’s not Southampton.

Please do not try teaching me how to sell / negotiate.

Ridiculous offer and we gained absolutely 0 from it.

You always put a cheeky first offer in mate knowing it will get knocked back but you try to test the water. It becomes farcical like when the buyer is going to have to go in with a 4th bid to get the deal done. The club know what Southampton want so they either pay it or move on.

I doubt with soton playing tmrw at 12.30 that any news even if we did agree a price would be announced until after their game.

Nothing says promotion push…like announcing that your selling your hot young talent on the eve of the first game of the season!

Never mind getting the fans on board…esp given its against wrexham and on tv

I am waiting for tomorrow when he maybe not in the squad which will make people think he's signing. Or he is in the squad and playing, as afterall he's their player. to then have people say he's not signing

There’s a lot of noise on this. Positioning from both sides.

Southampton’s CEO comes out last night and says, we aren’t being pushed around, we have a valuation that we are sticking to.

Next day, Joyce, who gets his info directly from Everton, briefs the feeling is the deal won’t happen.

Think it was briefed yesterday that whilst Everton sources were cautious of the deal, Southampton felt a deal would be done, which is probably why he’s training on his own.

Personally, I don’t think Southampton have a strong hand. I can’t see a scenario where it makes sense not to sell him this summer. A year in the Championship won’t increase his value (playing against crap defenders) and next summer he has just 12 months left on his contract. You then throw in the mix that Southampton might not get promoted next summer, in which case they would be vulnerable as hell. In no scenario do I see them getting more next summer than they get now.

So when I see Spors and the CEO playing tough guy in front of their fans last night, I see it as performative rubbish. Perhaps Everton see it as the same.

Yeah, he's certain to go. Southampton have to sell him, logically. The only question is who buys him.

Surely this gets sorted out today. Everton want him and time is running out to get him trained up. Southampton now have an unhappy player who they can’t risk playing in case of injury. I think we go back in with 40m and a few mill in add on’s and say take it or leave it.s
