They’re going to be left with a disgruntled player if they keep him. This will obviously affect his performance and they’re playing a dangerous game, as his value will only diminish from here as his contract runs down. I think a compromise will be reached that suits both clubs.

We want desperately to sell him, but we are also want loads of money for him.
As a few have already said, this public grandstanding weirdly makes me even more convinced that it will be done, if it isn’t already.

Making sure the fans knew they fought tooth and nail to keep him, and reassuring them that, while the fee is undisclosed, they had our kecks down in the end.

He wasn't going to say anything else really.

We were spared the "derisory" bid guff, which clearly it wasn't/isn't, but everything else in this scenario is from word bingo.

There is no deal until there is a deal.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, thanks for attending this evening's fans forum. Just so you all know we are selling the club's best young player in 20 years. Does anyone have any questions?"

Said it at a fan event so going to be johnny big b0llockd at that event!

Be interesting if he’s in their squad on Sat

I'd be moving on from this if they're holding out for 50m and a 25% sell on fee. Paying 50m for a 19 year old prospect is more than enough. Adding that sell on clause is just plain cheek. They aren't exactly in a strong position being in the championship. If they hold onto him he'll have one year left on his contract next season and if they dont come up they'll be lucky to get £20m for him
