Confirmed Signing Jack Grealish

If it’s a choice between us or the top 8 not really.

Grealish is a good player - but he’s leaving one of those clubs and none of the other top 6 seem in for him. They quite clearly have squads of 25 that make him surplus. Why would they show us with him and not them with 25. It wont turn the dial.

I think you are overestimating his profile mate.

Grealish isn’t very popular in Ireland may I also add. Where we have a decent base.
But the narrative becomes "everton pushing to break the top 6 dominance", you've got the likes of Darren Bent on Talksport suddenly saying "oh what about Everton" as dark horses and you pretty much shift the entire conversation away from "relegation candidates" to "ambitious Everton".

Even better if he comes with a point to prove. Just look at all the attention Lingaard got at West Ham.

Probably not, but we haven't offered him that money, we would only be taking him on a temporary basis but across 4-5 years.

And, none of our players (only Pickford gets close) have the same profile as Grealish.
Profile? What? How many followers he has? I think the players will be far more concerned about his actual ability. A lot might look at him and think he isn't all that in training. Ndiaye in particular. They never would have thought that about J.Rod. Grealish reputation far exceeds his ability and what he has achieved. Never been a key player for England or City. Had good seasons at an average Villa team. I'd argue prime Arteta was a much better player but he was never thought about as being absolutely elite.

I mean it is absolutely obscene that someone who is already worth £15.6m would not consider cutting their weekly wage from 300k to say 120-150k in order to play regular football, resurrect their career, and make their last ever chance at a World Cup. A World Cup they have a pretty decent chance at winning.

His life literally cannot be any different either way
He will have agents and advisors though won’t he, unless he is really pushing for the move, I have a feeling they will be telling him to hold his ground and wait till the end of the window. When clubs get more desperate to sign him or City get more desperate to get him off the books

I know what you're saying but if city were daft enough to pay him £300k/wk he's well within his rights to want that contract maintaining just because city want him out doesn't change his contract.
